After passing The Franklin Room Chicago multiple times, I finally made my way in to try some of their celebrated dishes. Known for classic cuisine, this Chicago restaurant is perfect for anyone seeking flavorful dishes paired with a great atmosphere.
I began with the Long Train to Fresno cocktail, made with tequila, cucumber, aloe, Fresno chili, and lime. The balance of citrus and subtle heat was perfect, making it an ideal start to the meal.

For appetizers, I tried the Whipped Formaggio, a light and fresh dish with ricotta, goat cheese, green peas, serrano peppers, sweet corn, sunflower shoots, and mixed herbs, served with a roasted baguette. The combination of fresh ingredients made it a light and fresh starter.

I also had to try the famous Wagyu Steak Tartare based on the bartender’s recommendation. Served with yuzu mustard, capers, shallot, cornichon, smoked gouda, and radish on toasted sourdough, this tartare was full of flavor and perfectly balanced, making it a must-try dish.

For the main course, I ordered the Truffled Ricotta Tortellini with black truffle, morels, porcini, sage, crème fraîche, and onion. Rich, earthy, and decadent, it’s a dream dish for mushroom lovers and anyone seeking bold, rich flavors.

The Franklin Room delivers classic yet elevated dishes in a moody Chicago atmosphere. From the Wagyu Steak Tartare to the Truffled Ricotta Tortellini, every bite was flavorful and memorable.
