Double Fun

I love it when a new cocktail bar opens in Chicago, and Double Fun in the Gold Coast was high on my list to try. Known for its creative cocktail menu and moody atmosphere, Double Fun is quickly becoming a go-to spot for elevated drinks in the neighborhood.

I started with The Martina, made with tequila reposado, Cocchi Rosa, strawberry amaro, and hoja santa. This cocktail leaned strong, but the strawberry amaro added a balanced sweetness that rounded out the bold flavors beautifully.

Next, I ordered the classic Naked & Famous cocktail, featuring mezcal, Aperol, yellow Chartreuse, and lime juice. This is one of my favorite cocktails to order anywhere, and Double Fun’s version delivered — smoky, citrusy, and perfectly balanced.

To finish the night, I had to try the espresso martini, which was simple but done right. It had the ideal level of creaminess and rich coffee flavor, making it a perfect nightcap.

Double Fun is a fantastic addition to the Gold Coast bar scene, offering expertly crafted cocktails in a dark, intimate setting. Whether you’re stopping by for a pre-dinner drink or ending the night with an espresso martini, this cocktail bar is well worth a visit.
