Pizza Lobo

Pizza Lobo has been on my Chicago restaurant list for a while, so I was excited when the new West Loop location opened and gave my friends and me a chance to finally check it out. With a patio, cocktails, pizza, and some great weekday specials, Pizza Lobo is a fun addition to the Fulton Market restaurant scene.

Starting with cocktails, I ordered the Spicy Paloma, which had the perfect balance of spicy and grapefruit flavors. It was refreshing without being overly sweet and was a great drink to enjoy on the patio.

Because we went to Pizza Lobo on a Tuesday, we had to take advantage of the $1 wings deal. Along with the wings, we ordered the Spicy Chopped Salad with cheddar, jalapeño, red onion, pancetta, egg, pepperoni breadcrumbs, and spicy ranch. The salad was such a highlight of the meal. I loved all of the fresh ingredients and the combination of spicy, savory, and crunchy toppings. The pepperoni breadcrumbs were also such a fun addition.

For the main event, we ordered the Coal Miner Pie with vodka sauce, smoked provolone, pancetta, red onion, and cracked red pepper. I loved the vodka sauce on the pizza, and the smoked provolone added a great savory flavor. Next time, I would probably try a few different pizza combinations so we could have a little more variety.

Overall, I think Pizza Lobo is a great new addition to the West Loop and Fulton Market. While the restaurant is known for its pizza, the Spicy Chopped Salad was actually a true standout of the meal for me.
