Ox Bar & Hearth is a newer Lincoln Park restaurant serving classic American dishes in a warm and inviting atmosphere. With an open kitchen, cozy fireplace, and simple menu,it’s the perfect spot for a comforting meal in Chicago.
To start, we shared the Smoked Trout Dip, served with crackers and fresh crudité. The dip was light, flavorful, and a refreshing way to kick off the meal.

We also tried the pierogis with sour cream and sauerkraut — a classic take on this Eastern European favorite, perfectly balanced and full of flavor.

For the main course, I couldn’t resist the OBH Burger paired with beef fat fries. The burger was incredible: the aioli sauce and sweet pickles complemented the juicy patties, and the fries were golden and crispy.

Lastly, we ordered the warm chocolate chip cookies served with malted milk jam. The cookies were rich and chocolate-forward, while the jam added a subtle, flavorful twist — a perfect sweet ending to the meal.

I hadn’t heard much about Ox Bar & Hearth before visiting, but I left completely impressed. The combination of delicious American cuisine, cozy ambiance, and attentive service makes it a must-visit spot in Lincoln Park.
