During my New York City food tour, after enjoying multiple Italian spots, I wanted a change of pace and visited La Mercerie, a chic French restaurant in NYC known for its fresh flavors and Parisian-inspired menu. We started with Pain et Beurre, a simple yet delicious dish of a fresh baguette served with salted butter — a perfect introduction to the meal.

For a shared starter, we had the Salad with Fine Herbs, which was crisp, fresh, and bursting with vibrant herb flavors.

For my main course, I chose the Bouillabaisse with cod, mussels, clams, and potatoes in a saffron broth. While the seafood was perfectly fresh, the saffron broth was a little lighter in flavor than I expected from this classic French dish.

Though La Mercerie is famous for its chocolate chip cookies, they were sold out, so we opted for Chocolate Profiteroles instead. This dessert was light, airy, and rich — a perfect way to end the meal.

Overall, La Mercerie in NYC delivers a Parisian-inspired French dining experience with fresh flavors, quality ingredients, and a dessert menu that’s hard to resist. Whether you’re looking for French cuisine in New York City or a chic spot for lunch or dinner, La Mercerie is worth a visit.
