DJ’s Great Room is a new restaurant and cocktail lounge located in Chicago, and it’s already making waves for its elevated comfort food and creative drinks. I recently visited to explore both the menu and cocktail list, and overall, it was a delicious experience worth sharing.
We kicked off the evening with drinks. I ordered the Spicy Mezcal Paloma, which was bold, smoky, and well-balanced with savory notes. If you're into smoky cocktails with a bit of a kick, this is a solid choice.

To start our meal, we enjoyed the complimentary bread service. The crisp onion topping paired beautifully with the smooth, rich butter—definitely not your average bread basket.
We then tried two recommended appetizers: the Crispy Mozzarella and the Kale Caesar Salad. While they were decent, neither stood out as must-order dishes. (Fun fact: the Kale Caesar had no actual kale—worth noting if you're a true kale fan.)
For my entree, I ordered the Rigatoni Alla Vodka, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The creamy, spicy vodka sauce clung to the perfectly al dente pasta. This might be one of the best vodka rigatoni dishes I’ve had in Chicago—and that’s saying something in a city full of great Italian restaurants.
We also tried the Chicken Parmesan, which came as a massive portion. The crispy breading, melted cheese, and flavorful sauce made this dish a standout. It’s hearty, classic, and definitely a must-try for anyone visiting DJ’s Great Room.

DJ’s Great Room is a welcome addition to Chicago’s dining scene. The cocktail menu is strong, and the main dishes—especially the vodka pasta and chicken parm—are worth coming back for. Whether you're looking for a new date night spot or a place to catch up with friends over a great meal, DJ’s Great Room delivers.
