If you’re looking for one of the most unique coffee shops in Chicago, Swadesi Cafe absolutely deserves a spot on your list. After countless recommendations to try their specialty coffee and Indian-inspired menu, I finally stopped by for a Sunday morning breakfast — and it exceeded every expectation.

I ordered the Salted Caramel Jaggery Latte, a Chocolate Chip Jaggery Cookie, and their Breakfast Sandwich made with custard egg, crispy potato tikki, melted cheese, and spicy garlic mayo.

The Chocolate Chip Jaggery Cookie might be one of the best cookies I’ve had in Chicago. It was soft in the center, lightly crisp on the edges, and had a sweetness that made it stand out from any standard chocolate chip cookie. As for the Breakfast Sandwich, the combination of fluffy custard egg, crispy potato tikki, gooey cheese, and spicy garlic mayo created the ultimate savory bite.

Overall, Swadesi Cafe delivers a creative twist on classic coffee shop staples while highlighting traditional Indian ingredients like jaggery in a modern way. From the cozy atmosphere to the thoughtfully crafted menu, this is a café I’ll be returning to again and again.
