Mirai Sushi

I love trying new sushi spots in Chicago, and Mirai Sushi in Gold Coast was next up on my list. Known for its sleek atmosphere and freshly imported fish, Mirai delivered a flavorful and refreshingly simple sushi experience.

I started with a Lychee Martini and a bowl of salted edamame — the perfect light and salty pairing to sip and snack while browsing the menu.

For sushi, I ordered the Tuna Tuna Salmon: a poached salmon roll topped with thinly sliced tuna, avocado mousse, and creamy wasabi sauce. The flavors were incredibly fresh and balanced, with the wasabi cream adding just the right amount of kick.

I also tried the Spicy Tuna Roll, which was everything you want from a classic roll. To finish, I had to try one of the tuna nigiri. It was buttery, clean, and melt-in-your-mouth fresh — a perfect way to end the meal.

What stood out most at Mirai was how fish-forward the sushi was. The rolls weren’t drowned in sauce or overloaded with toppings — just high-quality fish, beautifully prepared. I’ll absolutely be back the next time I’m craving fresh, elegant sushi in Chicago.
