Nido

During my visit to Austin, I had dinner at Nido, a rooftop restaurant known for its stunning downtown Austin views and fresh, seasonal cuisine. To start, I ordered the Smoke & Fire Margarita, a cocktail made with mezcal, tequila, orgeat, lime, and guava. The smoky notes from the mezcal were perfectly balanced by the citrus and subtle sweetness from the guava, creating a refreshing cocktail.

For our first course, we shared the Burrata, served with piquillo romesco, pomegranate reduction, and fresh peaches. This appetizer tasted incredibly fresh and seasonal, with the creamy burrata pairing beautifully with the sweet peaches and pomegranate flavors. Burrata and peaches is one of my favorite summer combinations, and Nido executed it perfectly.

For my entrée, I chose the Branzino, served with coconut butter, greens, and roe. The fish was buttery, flaky, and mild. The coconut butter added a subtle richness and light sweetness that complemented the branzino without overpowering it, making for a well- balanced dish.

Overall, Nido was a great introduction to Austin’s dining scene. Between the city views, creative cocktails, and fresh seasonal dishes, it’s a restaurant I’d recommend for anyone looking for an elevated dinner experience in Austin.
