Tortello

Tortello is one of those classic Wicker Park restaurants that always comes up when people talk about fresh pasta in Chicago. I hadn’t been since moving to the city, so a summer patio dinner felt like the perfect excuse to finally revisit this popular spot.
We kicked off the evening with a bottle of the House Red and the Focaccia with Ricotta and Honey. The focaccia was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and the creamy ricotta paired with the sweet honey was the ideal start to the meal.

For my main course, I went with the Tortelli, a house-made tortellini stuffed with burrata, finished with olive oil and butter. It was super rich with the burrata adding a creamy bite. This dish is a must-try if you're looking for something indulgent but not too heavy.

I also sampled the Spaghetti Stracciatella, tossed in pomodoro sauce. The tomato sauce was a great contrast to the more mellow tortellini dish, and the stracciatella added a deliciously creamy finish.

Tortello continues to prove why it’s a staple among Wicker Park pasta spots. The ambiance was lively, the patio seating made for the perfect warm-weather evening, and the handmade pasta truly speaks for itself.
