Summer House Santa Monica is a well-known brunch destination in Chicago, offering a California-inspired menu with fresh ingredients and a great dining atmosphere. With an extensive brunch menu and bakery-style pastries, it’s a go-to spot for a relaxed weekend meal. It was surprisingly my first time dining here, so I stopped in to try their popular brunch offerings.
To start, we shared the Warm Cinnamon Roll. This dish leaned more like a cinnamon croissant, with light, flaky layers and a sweet glaze on top. It was warm, soft, and rich without feeling too heavy—an ideal pastry to share at the table.

For my entrée, I ordered the Green Chili Breakfast Burrito with bacon, avocado, scrambled eggs, jack cheese, and pico de gallo, served with crispy hash browns. The burrito was flavorful and well-balanced, but the standout element was the green chili salsa, which added a subtle heat and depth that elevated the dish. The hash browns were perfectly crispy, adding a satisfying crunch alongside the softer textures of the burrito.

Summer House Santa Monica stands out as a reliable brunch spot in Chicago with a wide-ranging menu. The cinnamon roll and breakfast burrito were highlights, showcasing both the sweet and savory sides of the menu.
