After hearing countless glowing reviews, I finally made my way to Daisies, a farm-to-table restaurant in Logan Square known for its inventive pastas and seasonal ingredients. Expectations were high—and Daisies absolutely exceeded them. From creative cocktails to handmade pasta and fresh, flavorful starters, this spot delivered on every level.

I kicked off the meal with the Sour, In Green, a bright and herby cocktail made with soka, mezcal, green strawberries, and tarragon. The flavors were layered, refreshing, and unique—definitely one of the more creative cocktails I’ve had in Chicago lately.

For our appetizer, our server recommended the Asparagus Panzanella, a seasonal dish featuring spring onion, asparagus, vinaigrette, and housemade sourdough croutons. The croutons added the perfect crunch, while the cottage cheese brought a creamy, burrata-like texture.

Daisies is best known for its pasta, so of course we had to try a few options—and they were all phenomenal:

  • Rigatoni with nduja, tomato, and lemon breadcrumbs: This was hands-down the star of the night. The spicy kick from the nduja paired perfectly with the crispy breadcrumbs and bright red sauce.

  • Sweet Pea Ravioli with ricotta and mint: A beautifully light and refreshing pasta that offered a subtle contrast to the richness of the rigatoni.

  • Mussel Pierogi in creamy sauce: A unique twist on pierogi, served in a rich sauce with perfectly cooked mussels.

Lastly, we had to try the Pierogi with mussels in a super rich, creamy sauce. This was such a standout dish because of the delicious flavor and unique texture from the pierogi.

Even though we were full, we couldn't resist the Strawberry Shortcake—and it turned out to be an absolute must-order. The dense shortcake was buttery and rich, while the fresh strawberries added just the right amount of sweetness. A perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.

Daisies is worth every bit of the hype. From the attentive service to the seasonal, handmade dishes, this Logan Square restaurant is one of the best dining experiences I've had in Chicago. It’s an ideal spot for a special night out or a girls' dinner—and one I’ll be returning to again soon.
