Bird's Nest

I’ve frequented Bird’s Nest more times than I can count, so I was genuinely shocked when I realized I hadn’t written a full article about it yet. Known for crispy wings, bold sauces, and classic bar food, Bird’s Nest has built a reputation as a go-to neighborhood sports bar.
I always start with the Cajun Curly Fries with cheese. They’re simple but exactly what you want from great Chicago bar food: perfectly crispy, generously seasoned, and even better dipped in melted cheese. From there, I usually order the Ballpark Nachos, which are exactly what they sound like — tortilla chips layered with cheese and jalapeños. No unnecessary extras, just classic, shareable comfort food that pairs perfectly with a cold drink while watching the game.

Of course, the real reason people come to Bird’s Nest is for the wings. Known for serving some of the crispiest, most flavorful chicken wings in Chicago, they truly live up to the hype. BBQ is my personal favorite — smoky, slightly sweet, and generously coated — but the signature Bird’s Nest Hot Sauce is a must-try if you like a little heat.

Bird’s Nest is also one of my go-to spots to watch the Chicago Bears during football season. The energy on game days makes it one of the best sports bars in Chicago for wings and football alike. Even if you’re not there for a game, the laid-back Lakeview vibe makes it an easy choice for a casual night out.
