Hidden on the 7th floor of the Park Hyatt, NoMI is one of Chicago’s best-kept secrets—at least to me. With incredible skyline views, elevated sushi, and a unique menu of shareables and cocktails, this rooftop restaurant on Michigan Avenue completely surprised me in the best way.
I started my meal with a refreshing Aperol Spritz, the perfect choice for a warm summer afternoon in Chicago. Sipping this light, citrusy cocktail while soaking in the views of the city instantly made the visit feel special.

While I initially came for the sushi, I couldn’t resist trying the Cultured Butter Board when I spotted it on the menu. Featuring ramp butter, lemon butter, seasonal vegetables, and honey, this board was a creative, fresh, and flavorful way to start the meal. The butters were rich yet balanced, and the veggies added the perfect contrast.

Next up was the main event—sushi. We ordered two standout rolls:
Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll: Made with tuna, shiso panko, and togarashi, this roll brought the perfect amount of heat with a crunchy texture.
NoMI Futomaki Roll: A satisfying, umami-packed option with snow crab, eel, salmon, scallion, and cucumber. The richness of the eel paired beautifully with the sweetness of the crab and freshness of the cucumber.
Together, these rolls offered a balanced mix of spice, crunch, and savory richness—ideal for sharing.

From the Aperol Spritz with skyline views to the creative small plates and sushi, NoMI is a true gem on the Magnificent Mile. Whether you’re planning a rooftop lunch, a date night, or a sophisticated happy hour, this spot is officially one of my new go-to favorites in Chicago.
