Every time I think that I have tried all of the places in Over the Rhine, another one pops up. The Mercer is a restaurant that I have seen a bunch of times but never got the chance to try.

I had not actually heard of many people who have tried The Mercer, so I was excited to try and review it so that everyone knows what’s up.

I started my meal with.. a yummy Aperol Spritz.

We decided to order the Fried Cauliflower which had curry aioli, watermelon radish, pickled red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro. I loved all of the unique flavors on this dish and it was delicious. We also tried the Ricotta Bruschetta with port onion jam on top. This bruschetta was not my favorite because the flavors were a bit odd together.

Per the waitress’ recommendation, I ordered the Lemon Truffle Salad — arugula, goat cheese, grape tomatoes, and lemon truffle vinaigrette — I added salmon to the dish too. This salad had a delicious, strong flavor and I loved it.

The Mercer was a pretty good restaurant that I am happy I finally decided to try. There are so many items on the menu that looked delicious, and the Fried Cauliflower is definitely a must-have.
