While spending a weekend in New Buffalo, Michigan, restaurant options felt somewhat limited, which made choosing where to eat a little easier. After hearing great things about PostBoy, we decided to give it a try—and it ended up being one of the biggest dining surprises of our trip.

We kicked off the meal with the Pimento Cheese Dip, served with kimchi, strawberry gochujang jam, and saltines. This appetizer was outstanding. The creamy pimento cheese paired beautifully with the sweet-and-spicy strawberry gochujang jam, while the kimchi added a subtle tang that balanced every bite. It was a unique and flavorful start to the meal.

Next, we ordered the BBQ Carrots with hazelnut aioli, chimichurri, and everything bagel crunch. This ended up being one of our favorite dishes of the night and is an absolute must-order at PostBoy. The smoky barbecue flavor combined perfectly with the rich hazelnut aioli, while the chimichurri added freshness and the everything bagel crunch brought a great texture.

One of PostBoy’s most talked-about menu items is the Chicken Thighs, served with maple tandoori, raita, and roti paratha. After hearing this was a guest favorite, we knew we had to try it—and it completely lived up to the hype. The chicken was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, while the maple tandoori sauce added a delicious sweet-and-spiced element. Paired with the cooling raita and flaky roti paratha, every bite was exceptional.

For our entrée, we shared the PostBoy Double Smashburger topped with cheese, lettuce, onion, pickle, and boom sauce. Sometimes a classic burger is exactly what you need, and this one delivered. The smashburger was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with the tangy sauce and fresh toppings.

When it came time for dessert, we couldn’t choose between the Chocolate Pie and Strawberry Shortcake, so naturally we ordered both. It was impossible to pick a favorite. The Chocolate Pie was rich and decadent, while the Strawberry Shortcake was light, fresh, and packed with seasonal flavor. Both desserts were the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.

From creative appetizers and standout vegetable dishes to flavorful mains and incredible desserts, every dish exceeded our expectations. PostBoy was easily one of the highlights of our New Buffalo weekend getaway, and it’s a restaurant I’ll gladly return to every time I’m in town.
