Old Pueblo Cantina in Lincoln Park has been on my radar for a while—specifically for one standout dish I saw on social media: the Shredded Chicken Tinga Salad. With a craving for bold flavors and fresh ingredients, I decided to stop by Old Pueblo during my Sunday walk, and it ended up being the perfect midday fuel-up.

We kicked things off with the complimentary chips and salsa, a classic starter that didn’t disappoint.

Now onto the reason I made the trip: the Shredded Chicken Tinga Salad. This dish came packed with avocado, roasted sweet potato, crispy tortilla strips, pickled onions, and chipotle ranch dressing. Every bite offered a balance of flavor and texture—from the tangy onions to the crunchy strips and smoky chicken.

We also tried the Southwest Caesar Salad, made with romaine, grilled corn, cotija cheese, pepitas, and a creamy chipotle Caesar dressing.

Old Pueblo Cantina totally delivered on flavor and freshness. If you’re looking for a vibrant, casual spot to grab a bold and filling salad in Chicago, this Lincoln Park gem is well worth the visit.
