Jake Melnick's Corner Tap

When it comes to the best wings in Chicago, Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap is always part of the conversation. So during football season, it felt necessary to finally try these highly acclaimed wings for myself — and this River North sports bar absolutely delivered on both flavor and atmosphere.

We started with the cheese curds served with Cholula ranch. Crispy on the outside and perfectly melty on the inside, they had that ideal crunch-to-cheese pull ratio. The Cholula ranch added just the right amount of tangy heat, making them an easy crowd-pleaser.

Next up were the Parmesan garlic waffle fries — and honestly, these may have been my favorite part of the entire meal. The waffle cut made them extra crispy, while the bold Parmesan garlic flavor coated every bite.

For the main event, I ordered the 8 bone-in wings, splitting them half KC BBQ and half Whiskey BBQ. Both sauces delivered that rich, smoky-sweet BBQ flavor, with just enough distinction to make trying both worthwhile. The wings were crispy, saucy, and exactly what you want when you’re craving classic wings.

Beyond the food, Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap is the perfect place to watch a game — especially during football season. The lively atmosphere, packed TVs, and energetic crowd make it one of the best sports bars in Chicago for wings and game day vibes alike.
