Fat Ox
Fat Ox is a restaurant in Scottsdale I have been wanting to try ever since my brother moved there. This meal was absolutely delicious and the perfect restaurant for a special occasion.
For my cocktail, I ordered the Big River cocktail with mezcal, pineapple, saffron, turmeric, and peppers. This cocktail was fantastic, and I loved the super smoky and spicy flavors with the subtle pineapple sweetness.
For some of the appetizers, we ordered the classic Caesar Salad, Veal Meatballs, and Steamed Mussels. All of these dishes were perfect starters for the meal. I loved the freshness of the salad, and the mussels and meatballs had great flavor.
For my meal, I ordered Scallops with turnip, crispy Rosso Ermes rice, clam guanciale sofrito, occhi cacio e pepe. This dish was unlike anything I have had before which I loved. The scallops were fresh, and the cacio e pepe was in the form of a ravioli-type noodle which was amazing.
Jack ordered the New York Strip which tasted delicious, and Mackenzie and Lucy split the Gigli Pasta with San Marzano tomato, Evo, garlic, basil, and Parmesan with an order of the Grilled Calabrian Shrimp.
For dessert, I had an Espresso Martini with reposado tequila which was super creamy and tasteful.
Fat Ox was phenomenal, and I loved everything that I tasted there. There were so many different menu options to choose from and it was the best spot to go with a group of people. I would definitely recommend dining here because the experience was great.
