For my birthday dinner, I thought it would be the perfect occasion to finally try Dear Restaurant & Butchery. I had been waiting to go for a while, so it was exciting to try all of the different goods they have.

We started with cocktails, of course, and originally ordered Aperol Spritzes but the waiter recommended a Berto Spritz instead. Berto is lighter than Aperol with the same orange flavor and was super refreshing.

For our main courses, we all ordered either the Spaghetti Aglio e Olio with tomato conserva, Parmesan foam, and fried garlic or the Capelletti en Brodo with corn and ricotta mousse, corn and bacon dashi, and coppa cotto. Both of these dishes were delicious and I loved the different flavors in each.

We also ordered a few sides with our meal - Smoked Steak Fries with foamy mornay sauce and the Johnny Cakes with mushroom glacè and sorghum. The fries were crispy and the sauce on top was a delicious touch. The Johnny Cakes were phenomenal as well and I loved how savory the mushrooms with the waffles were.

For dessert, I ordered an espresso martini and it was a perfect balance of coffee flavor and creamy texture.

I loved my experience at Dear Restaurant because the cocktails and the food were super unique but delicious. I loved all of the flavors that I tasted and was happy to try a new version of a spritz as well.
