Baru

I could not wait to try Baru in downtown Cincinnati, and it certainly did not disappoint. I loved everything I ate there and can’t wait to go back to try more. Grace and I began the meal with the Wasabi Margarita with Casamigos, Grand Marnier, simple syrup wasabi, and lime. This margarita had some good spice to it and tasted refreshing.

We tried the Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna which was just as delicious as it sounds with spicy tuna tartare, smoked soy, seared rice, and Serrano. I loved this dish and will be ordering it again.

Next, we had some amazing Baru Fried Rice with chicken. This fried rice was incredible with a unique flavor and spicy sauce on top. I love when a restaurant adds some different seasonings and flavors to make a traditional dish their own.

For the main part of the meal, we decided to try the Tuna Tuna Tuna roll with ahi, spicy tuna, and tempura crunch. We also tried the Fallen Angel with spicy tuna, asparagus, torched escolar, and tobiko. Both of these rolls were amazing; the Tuna Tuna Tuna had super fresh flavor, and the Fallen Angel had the most delicious sauce and textures in the roll.

During our meal, I found out Grace has not tried mochi before, so we had to order it for dessert. I had the strawberry mochi which was amazing and tasted fresh.

Baru lived up to all of my expectations because the food was incredible. I am happy to have a fantastic sushi place right downtown to live up to all of my cravings. It is such a treat to have seafood that tastes so fresh to be here in Cincinnati.
