When the weather warms up in Chicago, there’s no better way to enjoy dinner than with outdoor dining along the river. Robert’s Pizza and Dough Company is a hidden gem offering artisan pizzas, great wine, and a scenic patio in the city.
We began with the Arancini, made with mushroom risotto, za’dough breadcrumbs, taleggio, parmesan, and a spicy arrabbiata sauce. Each bite was perfectly crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, with just the right hint of heat from the sauce. It’s a must-order if you’re looking for a starter that’s both indulgent and flavorful.

We decided to share a few of their signature pizzas—each one offering a totally different flavor experience:
Soppressata Pizza: Topped with soppressata, Calabrian chili peppers, red sauce, fresh mozzarella, and shredded mozzarella. This pizza brought just the right amount of heat and saltiness—a classic choice for spice lovers.
Prosciutto & Arugula Pizza: With prosciutto di Parma, heirloom cherry tomatoes, arugula, lemon vinaigrette, and three cheeses, this pizza was fresh and bright. It balanced out the richer flavors of the other pies beautifully.
Tulip Tree Three Cheese Pizza: Our table favorite! This featured oxglove, trillium, and fresh mozzarella—melting together into a creamy, decadent bite. The unique cheese blend made this pizza stand out.
Between the riverside patio, top-tier artisan pizza, and excellent wine selection, Robert’s Pizza and Dough Company is the ideal spot for warm-weather dining in Chicago. Whether you're planning a group dinner, date night, or weekend brunch, the vibe here delivers every time.
