Loaf Lounge

Loaf Lounge is one of the most consistently recommended breakfast spots in Chicago, best known for its viral sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich served on a house-made English muffin. The bakery-cafe has built a strong reputation for its pastries, coffee drinks, and elevated comfort-style breakfast offerings. I finally stopped in on a Saturday morning to see if it lived up to the hype.

To start, I ordered a vanilla latte and a fresh chocolate chip cookie. The latte was smooth and balanced, and the cookie had a soft center with just the right amount of sweetness. The main event was the Sausage, Egg, and Cheese breakfast sandwich, made with garlic maple sausage, a runny egg, melted cheese, herby mayo, and a crispy hash brown layered inside a house-made English muffin.

The sandwich absolutely lived up to its reputation. The combination of the runny egg, savory sausage, creamy sauce, and crispy hash brown created the perfect bite every time.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Not that this isn't obvious, but I am not a professional writer - I don't claim to be one either. Cut me some slack on my writing for a little bit. It will get better!
