Tamu is one of the newer additions to Fulton Market's dining scene, known for its fresh hand rolls and omakase experience. As a sushi lover, I was excited to try their Temaki Hand Roll Bar, which offers a wide selection of classic and signature rolls prepared right in front of you. I decided to order the Chef’s Choice Set, which includes four classic hand rolls and one signature hand roll. Each roll was packed with flavor and featured high-quality, fresh ingredients.

Here’s what was included in my Chef’s Choice Set:

  • Kani: blue crab, yuzu kewpie, masago

  • Gochujang Shiromi: amberjack, gochujang

  • Sake: marinated salmon, sweet onion

  • Spicy Sake: spicy minced salmon, masago

  • Unagi: freshwater eel, crispy onion

I also added one more roll — the Spicy Akami with minced bluefin tuna and masago — which was the perfect way to round out my meal.

Spicy Akami hand roll with minced bluefin tuna and masago from Tamu Chicago.

Each hand roll was perfectly wrapped, fresh, and flavorful. I loved the balance of textures and spice levels throughout the set. Tamu Chicago is the perfect spot for sushi lovers looking to try a variety of hand rolls or enjoy a casual omakase-style experience in a modern, stylish setting. Next time, I’ll probably order a la carte to mix and match my own selection — there were so many other rolls I wanted to taste!

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Not that this isn't obvious, but I am not a professional writer - I don't claim to be one either. Cut me some slack on my writing for a little bit. It will get better!
