Ripple Wine Bar

I love a restaurant that has so much on the menu to try that I come back and can get something different every time. Ripple Wine Bar is a top favorite place of mine in the Cincinnati area because everything on the menu is fantastic and leaves you wanting to come back.

I’ve been to Ripple three times now and each time I’ve gotten something different to drink and eat, and it has all been delicious.

The first time I went, my friend and I went wild on food and drinks. It was such a nice day, so we ate outside and we got there during the half wine bottle specials, so we ordered the chardonnay and rosè to split.

Ripple is a small plate kind of restaurant which is actually my favorite because you can try a bunch of different items on the menu. We split a flatbread and the shrimp nachos. Nachos is one of my favorite foods, so it was a given to order that on the menu and it was absolutely delicious and didn't make you feel gross after devouring them.

We both tried an Aperol Spritz and ordered the dessert charcuterie board. The Aperol Spritz was super refreshing and the dessert board was just as good as it looks – you can’t go wrong ordering either of those.

The next time I went to Ripple, it was mainly just for some appetizers and wine. We ordered the same chardonnay bottle, Drylands, and got a charcuterie board as well. You really can’t go wrong with ordering a charcuterie board and wine. This time we sat upstairs in the restaurant and the vibe inside was amazing. The buzzing of people and all of the décor inside was such a good atmosphere and were really enjoyable.

Lastly, the most recent time I went to Ripple was this past weekend. I was actually looking forward to the dinner all week to 1. catch up with one of my best friends and 2. I knew I was about to have such good food and drinks.

I tried a new rosè, which was delicious, and we also split a charcuterie board – with no meat because it was lent. I don't think I’ve ever had a cheese board that I haven’t liked, so it’s kind of pointless for me to rave about how good it was, but it was incredible as always.

Once again, I love how many different options for both food and drink that Ripple has on the menu, so it was hard to decide what on the menu to order. I ended up ordering the shrimp and grits, which was phenomenal, and my friends both ordered the crab cake.

For an after-dinner cocktail, I always see people at Ripple drinking out of a coupe glass, or as I call it – the Jay Gatsby glass. I asked the waitress which cocktails came in that glass and she recommended the Devil’s Margarita. I went with the recommendation and it was one of the most interesting flavored drinks I’ve tasted.

The Devil’s Margarita has tequila, orange-flavored triple sec, and a Malbec float.

Every time I have been to Ripple, I have always been happy with my experience. The inside of the restaurant has such a good atmosphere and it’s always crowded with people. I would definitely go here many more times to try new foods and drinks.
