After walking past Kanela Breakfast Club in Chicago countless times, I finally made the stop for breakfast—and I’m so glad I did. From the cozy vibe to the flavor-packed menu, this local favorite is a must-visit for brunch lovers seeking something beyond the typical eggs and pancakes. I started my meal with a vanilla latte, which was smooth, warm, and just the right amount of sweet to kick off my morning.

Next came the dish I couldn’t resist: the Monkey Bread. Served with cinnamon, honey butter, caramel, and toasted walnuts, and topped with cinnamon and powdered sugar, this dish was gooey, rich, and absolutely crave-worthy. It’s a must-order if you’re visiting Kanela.

For my main course, I chose the Spicy Feta Omelette, made with spicy whipped feta, sautéed red onions, and tomatoes. The feta brought bold, tangy flavor with a perfect kick of heat, while the vegetables balanced the dish with freshness and texture.

What I loved most about Kanela Breakfast Club was the incorporation of authentic Mediterranean flavors into their breakfast dishes. Between the warm spices, bold cheeses, and sweet treats, this was far from your average brunch spot. If you’re looking for a unique, satisfying breakfast in Chicago, Kanela should be at the top of your list.
