While taking a break from work, I decided to try a new (to me) coffee spot in the Loop — Intelligentsia Coffee, one of Chicago’s most well-known coffee shops.

My first impression of the cafe was how lively it was during the weekday rush, filled with people hosting coffee chats, remote workers on laptops, and others grabbing their coffees to go.

I ordered the classic vanilla latte, which turned out to be the perfect pick-me-up for the middle of the week. The espresso was smooth and rich, and the hint of vanilla added the right touch of sweetness without being overpowering.

Vanilla latte from Intelligentsia Coffee topped with latte art, served at the Loop location in Chicago.

I’d love to go back to Intelligentsia Coffee in the Loop to work from the cafe and try more of their signature drinks, like the seasonal lattes. Whether you’re a coffee lover looking for the best coffee in Chicago or simply need a cozy place to recharge during the workday, Intelligentsia Coffee is definitely worth a visit.
