Zula Restaurant & Wine Bar

Zula is the first restaurant I tried in Cincinnati after I moved here about a year ago. I love finding any wine bar, and when there is such good food, it’s the perfect combination.

I’ve been to Zula a few times now and tried probably half of the menu. One of the best parts about Zula is the wine list with different bottle options. One of my dine-ins included the Blanc de Blanc Sparkling which was fantastic and the glasses were gorgeous and hand-painted.

We also decided to order the House Baked Artisan Bread Basket which was warm and crispy bread that was undoubtedly made in-house. It came with some olive oil and balsamic to dip in and it was just delicious. We also ordered the Goat Cheese Flatbread which has fontina, fresh mozzarella, taleggio, and chives – amazing.

Bailey and I decided to go to Zula again because we had not been there for months. We started the meal with a bottle of wine again, but this time the La Petite Perriere Sauvignon Blanc. We didn't get the pretty glasses this time, but the wine was amazing – I will be adding Sauvignon Blanc to the top of my white wine list.

Of course, we had to order the Artisan Bread Basket again because it is just that good. We enjoyed the bread and ordered the Beef Carpaccio which had potato croutons, petite salad, pecorino, olive oil, and balsamic.

I cannot believe I had never tried beef carpaccio before because all of the flavors were phenomenal. It was something on the menu that I would not have normally tried, but I am definitely happy I did because it was amazing.

We had to order the Goat Cheese Flatbread again because it is so delicious, and just as good the second time trying it as well. We also ordered the fried risotto bites – these had risotto, pork, and a delicious aioli to accompany it.

Of course, we decided to order an Aperol Spritz and “just look” at the dessert menu. We ended up ordering the Salted Caramel Crème Brulee which was amazing. Crème Brulee is a dessert that I have always loved and had a lot of, and this one was unique in that it was less of a custard texture and more of a pudding.

All in all, Zula is a must-go-to restaurant in Cincinnati. It had unique but tasteful food and it is all phenomenal. I definitely will be going back, again, because of the mussels menu – about 14 different flavors of mussels. Regardless, whether you want a flatbread or to go out of your comfort zone, Zula is the perfect place to get a bottle of wine and taste some great flavors of food.
